| The sports life in the Municipality of Gradiska
has a long and rich tradition. Among the oldest and the most popular
sports one should certainly mention soccer. The most significant
soccer club "Kozara" that competes in the First League
of the Republic of Srpska was the first to win the Cup of the
Republic of Srpska. "Kozara" Soccer Club has tied its
work and appearances to the town soccer stadium.  Apart
from this Club there are another 25 registered soccer clubs that
compete in the lower ranks. Apart from the soccer clubs there
are also two handball clubs in this town, two basketball ones,
two volleyball, bowling, chess, and four karate clubs.A major
place in the sports and recreational activities holds the Center
of Underwater Activities "St. Nicolas", Associations
of Hunters, Fishermen, and activities related to school and recreational
sports.
It is important to point out that, in the past
three years, owing to the resources of the donators, primarily
USAID and the Japanese Government, the most important health care,
educational, cultural, and sports facilities and buildings have
been reconstructed and this provided good working conditions in
all those fields.
The Municipality of Gradiska has a good cooperation
with other municipalities and institutions in the Republic of
Srpska and in particular with its twin towns Cuprija in Serbia
and Kavala in Greece.
The natural, geographic, economic and manpower
potentials represent a good basis and a guarantee for a better
life of the population and overall development of the Municipality
of Gradiska and the Republic of Srpska.
